What do I do once I arrive?
Step 1: Pick a Piece
Choose piece(s) to paint: plates, bowls, cups, vases, figurines and lots of kids’ pottery. Each piece varies in price from $5.00 to $80.00. The price of your piece includes the cost of all paints, stencils, sponges, decorating supplies and firing in the kiln.
** We accept all major credit cards and cash (no personal checks-except scout troops). Payment is expected at the time of painting.
Step 2: Pick your Paints and Create
This is the fun part! Design your piece using our inspiration books or your own ideas. We supply all the paints, stamps, stencils, and other materials you need.
Step 3: We Dip and Fire your Piece(s)
Once you have finished painting we will glaze your item(s) and fire them in our kiln.
Step 4: Pick up your New Piece of Art
Your piece(s) will be available for pick up in 5-7 days. Don’t live in the area or want to mail the item as a gift? We offer shipping within the United States for a small charge.
How long does it take?
That all depends on you! Some painters stay for hours painting and designing their piece(s). Others, including some small children, are finished more quickly. The average painter takes between 1 1/2 to 2 hours to complete. It all depends on the piece you select, your design, how detailed you are, and how much time you have! You are welcome to paint for as long as you like. If you are not able to finish in one sitting, no problem. You can take your piece home and return anytime to complete the project.
Do I need a reservation?
No! You are welcome to visit anytime we are open to paint pottery. Reservations are not required but we will accept them for groups of six or more. Even if we have a birthday party in the party room, we have plenty of room in the main studio for you to paint. Please be sure to arrive at least one hour prior to closing so that you have plenty of time to complete your masterpiece.
Are completed pieces food safe?
We are pleased to offer non-toxic paints and glazes of the highest quality. The finished pottery pieces are food safe but should not be put in the microwave or dishwasher.
